Just recently, it was reported that Robin Padilla marries Mariel Rodriguez in Baguio City on September 13, 2010. The report was first heard over ABS-CBN where the couple works. The said wedding of Mariel and Robin was confirmed by the Ibaloi Mamburong priest who officiated the said ceremony.
When interviewed by ABS-CBN, the native priest declared it was true. At first, he thought that it was just a movie shoot but when he asked Robin if it’s really a wedding, Robin said yes, so he immediately started.
However, Robin denies wedding with Mariel when asked during his press conference for his foundation Liwanag ng Kapayapaan. According to Robin, there’s no wedding that happened.
“Hindi po iyan kung ano ang mga bagay na ating nakikita at naririnig ay yun na po yun,” Robin said.
According to Robin, they could not confirm everything because that was for their upcoming program with ABS-CBN. If it was really for their upcoming show, why ABS-CBN news did not know it? Was it part of the plan? A publicity stunt maybe?
Mr. Raffy Sazon (Mariel’s Lolo) was interviewed by E-Live and according to him, Mariel informed him through text that Robin and Mariel would have an Igorot wedding. He was surprised though but already knew about it when Mariel texted him.
“Sabi niya, ‘Lolo what do you think of an Igorot wedding?’ Sabi ko, ‘Well that’s great. Type ko yan, maganda yan, just let me know kung kailan.’ Tapos matagal bago siya nagtext back. Sabi niya, ‘Lolo tapos na.’” Mr. Sazon added.
Mariel’s lola was also emotional when asked. She sent her best wishes to the couple and asked Robin to take care of Mariel and never hurt her.
